Twisted Tuesday Challenges

It is time for another challenge over at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.  The challenge today is to paint it, spritz it, Mist it or something to show splatter on your creation.  The twist is the use at least 2 words on your creation.

The background on my hello was created by taking an old toothbrush and dipping it in ink and then flicking it on paper.  Gives it quite the splattered look.  The hello die is by MFT.

Be sure and check the other designs at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.  There are some great creations over there.

Friends

The older I get, the more I realize how lucky I am to have great friends who share my love of paper crafting or just crafting in general.  Last weekend I was lucky enough to visit a friend that lives several hours away from me.  She was such a wonderful hostess.  I loved her 100 year old native stone home.  Wish I would of taken some pictures but the camera is never around when you actually need it.

I went with my sister and another friend.  When we arrived we went to a basket weaving class and made this potato masher basket using an antique potato masher.
My basket making skills are not the best but for my 2nd attempt at a basket, not bad.  Sure wish I lived closer to Vannessa where I could take more classes and perfect my skills in basketweaving.  Once I fill it with goodies, it will look much better.

Vannessa sent me this lovely card after our visit.  She knows I love to quilt so this made the perfect card for me.  Notice the adorable card holder.  That was on my bed with a hand crocheted washcloth when I arrived.  Just adorable.

I am so thankful to have such great friends and thanks to my sister for bringing us all together.

Birthday Card

This was a fun birthday card I made during the DTGD challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I love making flowers with felt using My Favorite Thing flower dies.
This went together really fast.  Amazing what dies can do to a card.

Horse card

I have a friend who lives in Colorado and has several horses.  I needed to make her a birthday card and came up with this card.  I can't believe this is the only horse stamp I own.  It is a rubber stamp made by Inkadinkadoo.   I usually borrow from my sister but I didn't thing early enough to borrow from  her.
The sentiment is from PTI and the sentiment die is from Verve.  I used brown embossing powder on the stamped image to make it stand out a bit.

Happy Birthday Sandi

Today is my sister, Sandi, birthday.  We won't say which one for her.  She will always be younger than me.  We always laugh at some of our old pictures and what we wore.  I decided this would be a fun card for her.

Sandi is the one on the left.  I am the one with the missing teeth on the right.  You have to love the matching outfits.  What fun we had as kids.

So Happy Birthday to my Sister Sandi.  Hope you have many more.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Another Twisted Tuesday Challenge is here.  Today's challenge is to use primary colors and the twist is to use buttons.  I decided to use one of my favorite stamp sets from Papertrey Ink called Everyday Button Bits.  The paper is from Summer Fresh by Simple Stories.  It is always a good day when you get to use buttons in your stamp sets.
Be sure and check out the other ideas on Twisted Tuesday Challenges.

Quilt Birthday Card

Today I am posting a birthday card for a co-worker whose birthday is coming up.  She used to own a quilt store so I thought the perfect card for her would be this card.  I originally got the idea for the card HERE.  I have always loved quilts.  It is amazing that I like the same fabrics as papers that I buy.  They all seem to have the same ideas in their designs.

I started with 7/8 inch squares and pieced together.  What really made this card was the embossing.  I thought it looked like it had been quilted.  The sentiment is from PTI Happy Birthday set.

PIP Challenge #2409

I am a little late in posting my card for Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenge #2409 .  Our internet was down all day yesterday.  Oh the joys of...
